The MAF and IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensors sit in the incoming air stream, translating airflow into little 0's and 1's the PCM can use to figure out the amount of necessary fuel to add for proper combustion. Over time these sensors can accumulate dirt, as no air filter stops 100% of incoming silicon particles. When this happens, the car can manifest problems like erratic idle, throttle hesitation, or a general lack of responsiveness. |

With the help of a site sponser (thank you tireswap). The admins and a few members of 6tech converged on Silver Spring, MD to roll some fenders and install some wheels. The wheel du jour? Kosei K1 TS wrapped in the sweet Toyo T1S. The tool used in this article is the one currently available from Tireswap. To sign up to use the tool, e-mail Eric

This fantastically written and illustrated article was present by mr 84fordman himself. Join him on his journey to lower his head temps to a much more manageable level. Whats the result? Lower coolant temps for a better tommorow! (More power people, its almost always about more power.) |

Frustrated at changing your oil on the 6i? The 6i's standard cartridge filter requires several gaskets and a Mazda-sourced filter be replaced at every oil change. It's expensive, and you are left with no aftermarket filter choices. That means visiting the dealer prior to every oil change for the parts, or- worse yet- having the dealer do the change. But wait- there's hope! You too can have great filtration options! Convert the lame cartridge system to a geniune happy #1 fun Spin-on filter*. *=Now With Japanese Kanji! |

The Mazda service manual calls for a cabin air replacement every 12,000 miles. If you do this service through your dealership, it can cost anywhere from 30-50 USD. If you do it yourself, (and take the 45 seconds required), you'll save money. |

As many of you know, the Mazda6 ATX doesn't have a servicable filter. This is a problem for two reasons: a flush isn't a good idea because you can remove the filter to remove the contaminents, and as the tranny gets older, the filter gets dirtier, but there is no way to change it. Now we have a way! |
